BLOG -  a website that displays in chronological order the postings by one or more individuals and usually has links to comments on specific postings.

Blogs took off in 1999 after blog development applications such as Pitas, Blogger and GrokSoup were released. The template-based software made it easy to create an online blog and continuously add entries without having to code the pages in HTML.

After 9/11, blogs were used to convey information, thoughts and feelings faster than any previous method. On controversial issues as well as mainstream subjects, blogs can quickly reach people around the world. The “blogosphere,” which is the world of blogs, has become such a forum for public expression that it is being routinely searched for reactions and opinions about products, politics and issues of all kinds.

blogorrhea – typically refers to meaningless ranting and raving on a blog

As we know that internet lives its’ own life, let me consider some examples. One of the most popular and widespread blog site is called livejournal.ru. This is the russian analog of WordPress if I can say so. It offers blog accounts to all potential bloggers. The structure of this weblog is very convenient as there are the list of the  topics for blogging, where people share their experience or just disscussing some issues. This journal includes more than 1 million users, and more than 62 thousands of communities. So, if someone is interested in writing blog, but he understands that his thoughts are much better written in russian, so I would recommend to start blogging at this very site.

Blogging is the perfect way to get involved into the world community by presenting your views, thoughts, creative ideas, to share them and to get some interesting advice or ideas of other people. Without your blog, you can be an empty space for the rest of the world. But Blog is your online embodiment. It reflects everything about you and your preferences. While you are blogging you open yourself to the rest and other people can feel attachment to what you are doing or thinking at the moment. They take part in your life, so this a possible way of not feeling lonely on this lonely planet. Natasha S.

Dating online is very popular all over the world. Though there are more than 6 billiards of people living on Earth, many of them feel lonely because they can not find their true love, second half. There are lots of such sites, and simply agencies which are trying to make people happy. For me this way of communicating for further relationships seems rather unusual and strange to some extent. But, many other people did really found their beloved. And I have several friends, and friends of my friends who are the ones. The most popular sites are match.com, kiss.com, which are purposely match different people from various parts of the world. In Kazakhstan dating online is the issue too. With the extensive economic development people more and more are getting short of time to find the right person. Their way of life does not allow this in common situations, that’s why people sit in dating chats, communicate and after meet and so forth. The history of dating online services is very long. Nowadays an average dating site such as plentyoffish.com is visited on average by 3.2 millions of people each day. And usually they use at least 3 dating sites simultaniously. In Kazakhstan usually people combine dating and communication. Most of them use russian sites and agent-services, such as Mail-agent which is extremely popular nowadays. Also other sites are loveguru.ru, http://mamba.ru, www.liveinternet.ru/. These are the most visited by net-users. Kazakhstani dating services have developed not so long ago. But the rate of development and increase in popularity is obvious. I found 2 most popular unfortunately, yes, in comparison with Russia this is ridiculous, but still Kz has its own dating service. Good! Janym.kz, strana.kz are these sites. So if you are the loneliest person in the universe go there and may ber you’ll be a success in finding that ONE!

It is pleasant to realize that the topic of Kazakhstan is being discussed by different students who have created their blogs. I found Nailya Sibgatullina’s site (http://nailya03.blogspot.com/), where she discusses interesting issues, including Kazakhstan. Her site is very bright and contains lots of pictures. She also writes about photojournalism, which is developing in Kazakhstan and which is becoming more and more popular.

I like the fact that Nailya discusses photojournalism. It is something new for Kazakhstani people, and her site really helps its readers to understand new terms and concepts. She did an important job by posting interesting material. Photos that are on her site are powerful, which means that viewers can be inspired to dip into the world of photojournalism.

It was interesting to find out some of my friends blogs created in the previous course of New Information Technologies. I found Diana Kaliyeva’s blog (http://kaliyeva.blogspot.com/), which contains many good thoughts and ideas. She writes about mission of a journalist, global civil society and information age, Kazakh language and online journalism. She gives many useful references to Kazakhstani sites, such as Egemen Kazakhstan,  Site of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakh entries, etc. Her posts represent the current situation with online journalism, and give its readers supplementary information about Kazakhstan.

It is very good that blogging has an ability to change our perceptions and thoughts. Through other people’s blogs we see different sides of things. Blogging makes us a little bit distinct, because we learn to become more flexible. Bloggers carry out an important task: they bring bright new ideas to the world. Ideas that can change the course of things…

Adoption in Kazakhstan is another issue which is very common among its citizens as well as in other parts of the world. There appeared many blogs, giving directions to families who want to adopt a child. Adoptionblogs (http://www.adoptionblogs.com/index.php?blog=24&disp=posts&paged=3)
is a site where such families are enabled to get the information that they seek. They are given a chance to find where they can adopt a child and how to implement such a process. This blog was created for the purpose of making it easier for Kazakh people to find what they need and to share the experience with other families. I like the fact that through the experience of others, people can easily be led to the right way.

Political situation in Kazakhstan is unstable nowadays and there appear many blogs discussing the problems of corruption, opposition, and bribery. People tend to ask many questions on how the country will develop further under the current regime and what should be done to improve the situation. Blogs devoted to those topics are very popular. The reason is that people usually find the answers through interacting with different sources and by reading comments to the written articles. The Blogtoplist site
(http://www.blogtoplist.com/rss/kazakhstan.html) is a good example of how well the material has been sorted out. The site includes many “hot” issues and makes its readers want to know more about politics in Kazakhstan.

Blogging is such a powerful tool, that with every new day we become more and more interactive. It is a very exciting process, because we get to know other people who share the same interests with us on certain issues. Kazakhstani people try to follow everything that is new in information technologies field and now communicate with the rest of the world through creating blogs. There is a very useful site for students, who want to know more about studying abroad through the blogs of students who are already experienced in it. If you want to learn about living and studying in different parts of the world, you may visit the following site: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/international-students/country-information/central-asia/khazakstan/kaz_blog/. Here you will skip through the pages of other students’ blogs and you will find answers to the questions that are relevant to you.

I found a very interesting site on travel blog in Kazakhstan. (http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Kazakhstan/). It contains many important directions for people willing to visit different parts of the country. I think this site is very comprehensive, because it gives many recommendations on every single aspect of traveling in Kazakhstan. It also contains many beautiful pictures, which give its viewers an opportunity to see fascinating places and make them desirous of visiting them. I liked the site not only for pictures, but for the interesting content. Its users can easily find everything that interests them on the topic of Kazakhstan and can enlarge their knowledge of the country. The site is very informative and visual, and that really sells.
